Import your Rise SCORM exports and keep building — for a fraction of the annual cost, with the client-facing documents Rise was never designed to produce.
Free tier, no card required.
Articulate Rise does responsive, linear course building well, and for a lot of teams it's the right tool. People start looking for alternatives for three specific reasons, and it's worth knowing which one is yours.
The first is cost: it's sold as part of an annual 360 subscription, which is a significant commitment if you're an independent consultant or a small L&D function building a handful of courses a year. The second is scope — you're paying for a suite when you use one part of it. The third is lock-in: getting an editable version of your content out of Rise and into anything else is difficult by design.
If your reason is the first or third, this page is relevant. If you need branching scenarios and custom interactions, you need Storyline, and nothing here replaces it.
Including the parts where Rise wins. A comparison that claims a clean sweep isn’t worth reading.
If you need branching scenarios or software simulations, buy Storyline. We’d rather tell you that than sell you a subscription you’ll cancel.
Being specific about this matters more than being optimistic about it.
The import gets you the content and the structure — the hours of typing and image-wrangling. Restyling to your brand takes minutes with themes. Custom interactions need rebuilding, and if a course is mostly custom interactions, importing it may not be worth the effort. Ask us if you’re unsure — we’ll tell you honestly.
Import a Rise SCORM export and it's rebuilt as an editable course — text, images, tabs, accordions and process blocks converted automatically. Not a screenshot: real, editable blocks.
Pro is $79/month, currently $39.50 with LAUNCH50, and there's a free tier that includes Word import and three courses. No annual commitment, no suite you don't need.
Storyboard, manual, facilitator guide, PowerPoint deck, FAQ, resources pack and a full training strategy — generated from the course. This is the part no authoring tool does.
Export the whole course to a .docx, edit it offline, re-import it. Your content isn't trapped in a proprietary format you can only read inside one application.
Word documents on every plan. PowerPoint decks, documentation URLs and Rise exports on Pro. Most courses start from content that already exists.
Exports work with Moodle, Canvas, TalentLMS, Cornerstone, Docebo and anything else SCORM-compliant — or standalone HTML with no LMS at all.
