Importing from Articulate Rise

Bring your existing Articulate Rise courses into CourseConverter by importing a SCORM export. Text, images, tabs, accordions, and process blocks convert automatically.

If you''ve built courses in Articulate Rise, you don''t have to start over. CourseConverter can import a Rise SCORM export and rebuild it as a fully editable course — modules, text, images, and most interactive blocks included.

Importing from Rise is a Pro feature. You''ll need an active Pro plan to use it.

What gets imported

Most of a typical Rise course converts directly into native CourseConverter blocks:

  • Text and headings — paragraphs, bold, italics, and links are preserved.
  • Images — every image in your Rise course is pulled in and added to your media library automatically.
  • Tabs — Rise tab interactions become CourseConverter tab blocks.
  • Accordions — Rise accordions become accordion blocks.
  • Process blocks — Rise''s step-by-step/process interactions come through as process blocks.
  • Dividers — preserved.

Each Rise lesson becomes a module, in the original order.

What becomes a placeholder

A few Rise block types don''t have a direct equivalent, so they''re imported as a clearly-marked placeholder for you to complete:

  • Videos — Rise videos are added as a placeholder where you can drop in your own video (for example, an embed from your video host).
  • Labelled graphics (clickable image hotspots) — added as a placeholder; re-create the key points as text or an accordion.
  • Quizzes / knowledge checks — added as a placeholder; you can rebuild them as CourseConverter knowledge-check blocks, or generate one with AI.

Placeholders show up as a highlighted callout in the imported course, so they''re easy to find and fill in. Everything is fully editable after import.

Step 1 — Export your course from Rise as SCORM

  1. Open your course in Articulate Rise.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Choose SCORM.
  4. Select SCORM 1.2.
  5. Download the .zip file Rise produces.

Keep the .zip as-is — don''t unzip it. CourseConverter reads the SCORM package directly.

Step 2 — Import into CourseConverter

  1. From your dashboard, click New course.
  2. Choose Import from Articulate Rise.
  3. Upload the SCORM .zip you exported. Larger courses (with lots of images or video) can take a moment to upload and process.
  4. Review the import summary — you''ll see how many modules and images came through, and how many placeholders were created.
  5. Adjust the course and module titles if you''d like, then click Create course.

Your course opens in the editor, ready to refine.

Tips

  • Check the placeholders first. They mark the few things that need your attention — videos and any quizzes or labelled graphics.
  • Images are reused, not duplicated forever. Imported images live in your media library; if you delete one there, it''s removed from any course using it.
  • Re-import freely. If something didn''t come through the way you wanted, you can delete the imported course and import again — it won''t affect your original Rise file.

Good to know

  • This importer is built specifically for Articulate Rise SCORM exports. Other authoring tools (Storyline, Captivate, and others) store their content differently and aren''t supported yet.
  • Use SCORM 1.2 when exporting from Rise.
