Can You Export an Online Course to Your LMS?

June 12, 2026

The short answer

Yes. You export an online course to a Learning Management System by exporting it as a SCORM package — a standard zip file that almost every LMS accepts — and uploading that package to your LMS as new content. The LMS then runs the course and tracks learner launches and completion. CourseConverter exports SCORM 1.2, the most widely supported version.

What SCORM does

SCORM is the standard that lets a course and an LMS communicate. It packages your course so the LMS can run it and report back that a learner launched and completed it. This is what enables completion tracking in corporate and educational settings.

How to do it

Export your course as a SCORM 1.2 package. You get a zip file. In your LMS, add new content and upload that zip as a SCORM package — without unzipping it first. The LMS handles the rest.

Which systems it works with

Because SCORM 1.2 is the most widely supported version, packages work with the large majority of Learning Management Systems. If your LMS lists SCORM support, your exported course will run in it.
